Pierre Jaquet-Droz (1721 - 1790),
a mechanical genius who was a clockmaker, watchmaker and creator of
automata.
Perfection is a language understood everywhere and Jaquet-Droz traveled
much to show his inventions. Emperors, governors and ambassadors are
knowing collectors of the exquisite mechanical creations. The finest
work of his period sets sail for India, Japan and China. Sublime repeater
pocket watches, delicate, animated jewels.
Jaquet-Droz later built some of the first wristwatches. Once again
he celebrates all the beauty in his head.

Watch movements, some of them
self-winding, are chased. Dials shimmer with guilloche engraving.
Jeweled treasures spring open to reveal secret singing birds.
The Jaquet-Droz Family continued to make elegant jeweled and enameled
pocket watches, some of them complications such as musical pocket-watches,
as well as singing bird boxes.
In today’s Jaquet-Droz workshops the production takes place in the
tradition of the craftsmanship in the same spirit as in 1775.
