Mellerio dits Meller is the
worlds oldest Jewelry company. In a family tradition the business
is passed on to the fifteenth generation today.
Leaving their native village in Lombardy in the 16th century, the
Mellerios became the jewelers to the Queen Maria de Medici. In 1613
they were granted exceptional privileges by the Queen for having thwarted
a plot to assassinate the young King Louis the XIII. This protection
would be renewed successively by all Kings and Queens of France until
the French revolution of 1789. |

Thanks to these privileges, the
Mellerios became the most famous French Jewelers and goldsmiths of
repute in the 19th century. They were suppliers of the empresses Josephine
and Eugenie as well as all European royal courts and the Tout Paris.
In the 20th century, Mellerio dits Meller develops a strategy of creativity,
personalized and adapted to its faithful clientele fond of authenticity.
Yet its reputation goes well beyond any frontier with successes based
on the quality of gems as well as on the charm of its Objets d’Art,
jewels and watches. |
