Cornet’s table clock
Roger Cornet started his career in radiological devices and precision mechanics when he was twenty. At the age of thirty-six he sets up his own business “The Mechanical Prototype”, where he worked successfully with famous aircraft manufacturers. At the age of seventy-seven he amuses himself by starting to design table clocks and develops the in-line escapement visible on the dial.

Roger Cornet surprised the watch world with an invention of a new and unusual caliber. Realizing that the relationship between a person and his or her watch is a very private and personal one, Cornet wanted to bring this timekeeper to life, to show its heart beating.
After years of research and development, this master craftsman succeeded in creating the technique of an in-line escapement visible on the dial. The result was the revolutionary Versailles.

Cornet then created another new timepiece. The Trianon is smaller and slimmer than its predecessor and is the result of a joint effort between the talented Cornet and the well-known Swiss manufacturer Frédéric Piguet who supplied the automatic caliber with 72 hour reserve. The sleek, modern case of the Trianon is available in steel, 18 kt yellow or rose gold. The heart of the piece still regularly beats to its own rhythm on the front of the white dial.
